Revelation of John 22

The River and the Tree of Life

1 And ^ahe showed me a ^briver of the ^cwater of life, ^{▼▼Lit bright}clear ^eas crystal, coming from the throne of God and of ^{▼▼Or the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was}the Lamb, 2 in the middle of ^gits street. ^hOn either side of the river was ⁱthe tree of life, bearing twelve ^{▼▼Or crops of fruit}kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 ^kThere will no longer be any curse; and ^lthe throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will ^mserve Him; 4 they will ⁿsee His face, and His ^oname will be on their ^pforeheads. 5 And ^qthere will no longer be any night; and they ^{▼▼Lit do not have}will not have need ^sof the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them; and they will ^treign forever and ever.

6 And ^uhe said to me, “ ^vThese words are faithful and true”; and the Lord, the ^wGod of the spirits of the prophets, ^xsent His angel to show His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.

7 “And behold, ^yI am coming quickly. ^zBlessed is the one who ^{▼▼Or follows}keeps ^abthe words of the prophecy of this book.”

8 ^acI, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, ^adI fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 And ^aehe *said to me, “ ^{▼▼Lit See that you do not}Do not do that; I am a ^agfellow servant of yours and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who ^{▼▼Or follows}keep the words of ^aithis book. Worship God!”

The Final Message

10 And he *said to me, “ ^ajDo not seal up ^akthe words of the prophecy of this book, ^alfor the time is near. 11 ^amLet the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness, and the one who is holy still keep himself holy.”

12 “Behold, ^anI am coming quickly, and My ^aoreward is with Me, ^apto reward each one as his work ^{▼▼Lit is}deserves. 13 I am the ^arAlpha and the Omega, ^asthe first and the last, ^atthe beginning and the end.”

14 Blessed are those who ^auwash their robes, so that they will have the right to ^avthe tree of life, and may ^awenter the city by the ^axgates. 15 ^ayOutside are the ^azdogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral persons, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

16 “ ^baI, Jesus, have sent ^bbMy angel to testify to you of these things ^{▼▼Or concerning
,} ^bdfor the churches. I am ^bethe root and the ^bfdescendant of David, the bright ^bgmorning star.”

17 The ^bhSpirit and the ^bibride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And ^bjlet the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the ^bkwater of life without cost.

18 I testify to everyone who hears ^blthe words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone ^bmadds to them, God will add to him ^bnthe plagues that are written in ^bothis book; 19 and if anyone ^bptakes away from the ^bqwords of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from ^brthe tree of life and ^{▼▼Lit out of}from the holy city, ^btwhich are written in this book.

20 He who ^butestifies to these things says, “Yes, ^bvI am coming quickly.” Amen. ^bwCome, Lord Jesus.

21 ^bxThe grace of the Lord Jesus be with ^{▼▼One early ms the saints}all. Amen.
